Imagine picking up a can of your favorite beer only to see a work of art on its label. Now, picture that art belonging to a young Gunnison Valley artist.

Crested Butte artist Portia Wassick has been chosen as a top-20 finalist in Pabst Blue Ribbon’s (PBR) 2020 Art Can Contest. If chosen as the winner, Wassick will have her design showcased on more than 30 million PBR cans this year. Additionally, she could receive a cash prize designed to help her develop her artistic goals.

The contest began in 2014 and since then PBR has put original art on more than 300 million cans and awarded more than $100,000 to budding artists. Just recently cans featuring last year’s winners were released to stores and bars nationwide.
