County going to extreme measures to contain coronavirus outbreak

In a massive response to the outbreak of novel coronavirus — COVID-19 — Gunnison County remains on tight restrictions in an attempt to “flatten the curve” on its spread.

Under a standing public health order revised Monday, business as usual no longer exists in the valley, and the towns and city within it resemble ghost towns.

Businesses have been ordered to shut their doors. All gatherings of 10 people or more are prohibited. Schools, arts organizations and others are temporarily closed.
