There was no explosion of celebratory “high-fives” among Gunnison County Library District board members Tuesday night. Only the quiet building of excitement — it seemed victory was almost too good to be true.
But as vote totals accumulated, smiles began to spread over library supporters’ faces. Ballot Issue 6A had 53 percent of the vote in unofficial early results.
As of Wednesday morning, the margin of success widened with 3,304 votes (56.4%) in favor of the measure to 2,552 (43.6%) opposed.
