Bold decisions while protecting civil liberties


We are the direct descendants of Italian immigrants who came to Gunnison County in the late 1890s. They were residents for many years on White Rock Avenue in Crested Butte, while other grandparents resided on Pine Street in Gunnison and we grew up on a ranch at Jack’s Cabin. This is not to imply we have greater insights into the ongoing COVID-19 discussion but rather opinions formed by a deep attachment to the area. We also recognize that our view is from the cheap seats in the COVID-19 arena where calling balls and strikes on the participants on the ground could be considered inappropriate.

Nevertheless, after closely following for some time the communications trail on the subject emanating from the various entities involved, we have developed a few opinions.
