James William Thompson, born in Glenwood Springs, Colo., on Aug. 28, 1983, passed away on Friday, May 3 at his home in Gunnison. He is survived by: mother, Paula Arnold (Carpenter/Thompson), sister Rachel Di Blasio (Carlo), sister Natalie Moore, brother Clayeton Arnold (Ashley), nieces Ember and Sophia and nephew Jackson, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who all loved him very much.
James could be found manya-time collecting precious rocks, shed hunting, hiking, fishing and enjoying epic, directionless adventures with like ramblers. James was a kind soul with a heart of gold and generous to a fault. He never met a stranger and blessed with many talents, especially that of laughter, his love radiated through everything he chose to do in life. He will be missed greatly by all that had the benefit to call him a friend, a brother, a son and even more so by the people yet to meet him.
James was a shooting star, burning bright and fast; a life ended before it had truly begun. James has left a legacy of colorful wonderment in his absence. Forever missed, never forgotten, always loved. At a future date, a celebration of James’ life will be arranged.
