The Tourism and Prosperity Partnership, formerly the Tourism Association, has had trails and mountain biking at the forefront of its spring, summer and fall marketing strategy since 2015.
But how do our valley’s mountain bike tourists compare to those of other destinations? Do they camp for free or do they spend money in our community outside of bike parts?
In November 2018, the Outdoor Alliance published a study on the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests (GMUG). The study broke out economic impact by activity within defined regions of these forests. This study sheds some light on our mountain biking visitor versus some of the other neighboring destinations within the state.
