Lends players, but comes away with win

GHS Baseball — If you can’t beat them — fair and square, that is — you may as well join them.

The Gunnison High School (GHS) baseball team applied the old adage — sort of — Tuesday evening in a summer ball exhibition game against the Olathe Pirates.

With the Pirates short one player, GHS lent the visiting team Spencer Dickey, Matt Solanik and Jackson Smith — who each took turns playing third base for Olathe and batting for the Cowboys. When the dust settled, GHS came away with the 22-7 victory.
