GHS Girls Basketball —

Despite struggling in their last two games against Roaring Fork and Cedaredge, the Gunnison High School (GHS) girls basketball team came out strong on Tuesday, defeating Olathe High School 53-45.

“It felt amazing to defeat Olathe,” said Kylie Travis. “We kind of underestimated them at first, but then we brought it back and stuck it to them. A bunch of us had confidence, and it felt really good.”

Momentum shifted early in favor of the Cowboys after Jenna Wise made a contested layup. Wise drew a foul and sunk the subsequent free throw, tying the game 7-7.
