Gunnison County companies, however, indicate strong supply

A propane shortage could make winter a lot colder for thousands of Coloradans who rely on the fuel as a main source of energy. Gov. John Hickenlooper declared a disaster emergency last week.

However, propane suppliers in Gunnison County — including JC Propane, Ferrellgas and AmeriGas — report both strong inventory and no problems with supply chains.

“We don’t have any issues with supply,” stated Joe Moseley, AmeriGas general manager in Gunnison. “In the nine years that I’ve been here, we have not had an issue with supply and demand.”
