Elyssa passed on July 11, 2020 with her husband, Danny White and daughter, TeaLa Mears by her side. Elyssa was born on Feb. 21, 1973 in Big Spring, Texas. Her family moved back to Gunnison when Elyssa was a toddler and where she called home for the rest of her life. Elyssa loved horses and all animals in need. She was Cattlemen’s Days Queen in 1991. She enjoyed traveling with TeaLa to barrel races all over Colorado and Utah. She also loved going to Street Outlaws with Danny.

Elyssa is survived by her husband, Danny White; daughter TeaLa Mears; step children Anthony Towner, Jeremy Peeples, Sharon White, Austin Stewart, and Tristin White; mother Valli Funk; brother Daniel Funk; nephew Colton Funk and niece Katelyn Funk; brothers-in-law Wayne Howard, Jason Owen, Martin Howard; sisters-in-law Caryn Owen, Patty Howard, Mary Howard, Marie Howard; grandchildren Teanna, Briella, Audrey, Syrena, Lina and last but not least, “granddoggers” Arrow, Tomahawk, Tumbleweed . . . Doug the sheep.

Elyssa was preceded in death by her father Melvin Funk, sister Melina Joy and daughter Dakota Daniellee White.
