David Guerrieri passed away at the young age of 65 on Nov. 7, 2018 in Grand Junction, Colo. He was surrounded by his loving family when he flew home.

For the past several years he had been living in Collbran, Colo.

David was born in Gunnison, Colo., to Earnest and Marl Lee Guerrieri. Just after high school David gave up riding bulls to join the U.S. Army and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne. He served from 1972 to 1976 and received several letters of commendation while serving his country. David worked in construction building bridges, driving trucks and mechanic work. He worked at G.A Western for many years.

David was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing and camping were his pastime. This man would lose sleep months prior to setting up hunting camp: what passion he had. The love he gave his animals was unreal, his dogs were his joy. He was a very determined man who took pride in his work.

David is survived by his wife Cindy; his mother, Marl Lee Guerrieri; two sisters, June (Dave) Martinez, Patty Weihs; four children, Bobbie Guerrieri, Jackie Guerrieri, Jeremy (Katie) Guerrieri and Monica (John) Coleman; seven grandkids, Desiree Gordon, Dakota Guerrieri, Dustin Guerrieri, Destiny Guerrieri, Kaden Guerrieri, Kayla Coleman and Eisen Coleman.

His father Earnest and brother-in-law Greg Weihs preceded him in death.

Please join us for a celebration of life on June 22 in Gunnison at the Fred Field Western Heritage Center (fair grounds) at 298 S. Spruce Street from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Please RSVP with Cindy, 970.210.9577.

We will always carry your memory in our hearts. Until we see you again…
