GHS Volleyball — The season may not have started the way the Gunnison High School (GHS) volleyball team wanted. The Cowboys lost their first game against Montrose on Aug. 22 in three sets. However GHS responded in a big way this past Thursday, defeating Olathe in three sets (25-19, 25-19 and 25-20).
“Beating Olathe at home definitely felt good,” said Kylie Travis. “One of our goals this season was to include more community members at our games … and the bullpen was the fullest it’s ever been since 2012. We really appreciated all of the supporters who came out and watched our game.”
It was anyone’s contest to start. The two teams went point-for-point, not allowing either to take an early advantage.
