The only two contested races for elected leaders in Gunnison County resulted in landslide victories for Democratic candidates.

With 8,686 votes cast, Mt. Crested Butte Police reserve officer John Gallowich soundly defeated current Undersheriff Mark Mykol in the race for sheriff by an unofficial margin of 76.0 percent to 24.0 percent in Tuesday’s election.
