Five Gunnison Valley athletes prepare for collegiate stage

For most high school athletes, the end of their senior year signifies the conclusion of an athletic career. Many want to continue to play in college. However, only a select few get the opportunity to call themselves “collegiate athletes.”

Come this fall, five Gunnison Valley graduates — Kelita Baroumbaye, Colton Stice, Braydon O’Neill, Dante Marchitelli and Chase Percival — will get the opportunity to continue to play the sport they love after working hard over the last four years.

Three of the Gunnison Valley graduates won’t venture far from home. Baroumbaye, Stice and O’Neill will attend Western Colorado University — adding another chapter to the trio’s long history as teammates.
