Gunnison Valley Regional Housing Authority (GVRHA) leaders failed a year ago in convincing elected officials that the time was right to pitch a property tax increase to voters. They’ve now succeeded.

Gunnison County Commissioners cleared the way last week for a proposed 1.5 mill levy to appear on this November’s ballot — a year after shooting it down while citing an insufficient amount of money the plan would generate and a lack of identified projects that it would fund.
