Gunnison is still hiding under the dark blanket of a chilly spring morning. Car windows are frosted over, and the quiet of a town still fast asleep is calming. But in the weight room of Gunnison High School (GHS), rock music is blaring through the concrete walls, echoing down the halls. It’s 6:15 a.m., and Taylor Miller is hard at work. He makes his way around the weight room with a focus that defines him. He goes from one set to the next with little distraction — the same way he carries himself throughout the day.
